The human form features prominently in Astrid Gillenius´ sculptures. Her work interprets the relationship between nature and man. How we live our lives, and how we play our roles are continual sources of inspiration.
Astrid has studied sculpture at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy, and has a Bachelor of Arts, with a major in Art History and Visual Studies from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Astrid has been freelancing as a sculptor for Madame Tussauds in London the last two years, and is now working from her studio in Sweden. She is also sculpting in granite on the Swedish west coast, and casting in bronze in Italy. She is currently exhibiting a large granite sculpture in Stockholm by the gallery Roddarhuset in Vaxholm, Sweden.
